Types Post Secondary Education and Training

College and Career Ready can have different a meaning depending for people. I'm of the school of thought that thinks of these terms in the broadest sense. When you graduate from Granger High School we want you to be able to be prepared for whatever your career choice you have in mind. The end goal can take you in different directions whether it be college, technical school, apprenticeship, military, and/or the workforce. The really cool thing is that you don't have to graduate to get started, depending on what you have in mind the education/training can start in high school! Below I will start this section with programs that you can do in high school from there I will move on into the traditional forms of post secondary education. These links that I provide will give you a lot of things to think about but don't worry we will have time to discuss them when you are ready... Enjoy!
PROGRAMS THAT CAN BE DONE DURING THE HIGH SCHOOL YEARS

Do you see yourself as a hands on person? Do you want to develop skills in the trades? Would you like certified in a trade that would allow you to be employed right after high school? Are you unsure about what career you want to do after high school? If you said yes to one or more of these questions then you should consider YV-TECH as an option. Enrollment into YV-TECH program during the school year is available to Yakima Valley high school students during their junior and senior years of high school. YV-TECH also offers a summer program that is open to students exiting the 8th grade to juniors going into their senior year.

New Horizons offers eligible juniors and seniors free college-level courses at Heritage University. Please refer to the website for more information.

The program offers eligible juniors and seniors the opportunity to enroll in college classes and receive both high school and college credit for the classes.
