Yesterday, 37 Granger High School students in grades 9–12 had the opportunity to visit Perry Technical Institute in Yakima!
Throughout the visit, students toured the campus, explored different technical programs, and learned more about the hands-on training and career opportunities Perry Tech has to offer!
One of the highlights of our visit was running into two familiar faces! We were excited to see Alan Erazo and Galilea Garcia, GHS Class of 2026 graduates, who are now attending Perry Tech! It's always special to see our former Spartans continuing their education and working toward their career goals. We are so proud of you both!
A huge THANK YOU to Perry Technical Institute for welcoming our students and providing them with this opportunity!

Staff hosted a variety of activities, including card games, coloring, a movie, basketball, volleyball, and other activities in the gym. 🃏🎨🎬🏀🏐

This morning, a Granger Middle School student was struck by a vehicle while crossing the intersection of Bailey Avenue and E Street on the way to school. The student is in stable condition and was transported to receive medical care. We are grateful to the first responders and others who assisted at the scene this morning.
Following this incident, Granger School District will continue its focus and staff presence around school crosswalks and intersections during student arrival times.
We are also asking all parents, students, staff, and community members to take extra care when traveling near our schools:
• Slow down and follow posted school-zone speed limits.
• Watch carefully for students entering crosswalks and intersections.
• Be especially cautious during the morning hours, when sun glare and lighting conditions can make pedestrians more difficult to see.
• Avoid distractions and allow yourself additional time when traveling through school areas.
Hundreds of students walk, bike, and are dropped off at our schools each morning. A few extra seconds of caution and attention can make an enormous difference.
Thank you for helping us keep our students safe.

A group of 10th grade Granger High School GEAR UP students had an exciting hands-on learning experience at Washington State University – Irrigated Agriculture Research and Extension Center (WSU-IAREC) in Prosser!
Students explored agricultural degree programs, career pathways, and STEM opportunities through engaging activities focused on food safety, environmental sampling, genetics, apple tasting, sensory science, and drone technology.
The day continued at Roza Farm, where students explored horticulture, plant pathology, and wine grape varieties.
A great day of learning, exploring, and discovering future possibilities in agriculture!

This week, Granger High School FFA members participated in FFA Day at the Yakima Fair, competing in Livestock, Dairy, and Horse Judging. 🐄🐎
Other members attended the Evergreen Leadership Tour at Grandview High School, where they met Washington State FFA officers, members, and advisors, participated in workshops, and learned more about FFA leadership and opportunities.
Thank you to Ms. Schlosser for helping connect our students with these great experiences!

Granger High School students and families are invited to our Financial Aid Information Night TONIGHT! Come learn more about FAFSA/WASFA, grants and scholarships, work-study opportunities, student loans, important deadlines, and the steps you can take now to prepare for life after high school.
We will also have representatives from Yakima Valley College, Heritage University, and Perry Technical Institute available to answer questions and share information about their programs!

Our district MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) Team reviewed student data, celebrated strengths, identified priorities, and planned next steps to support students academically, behaviorally, and socially-emotionally.
We are also starting a Family Advisory Committee because family voices are an important part of student success. If you are interested, contact Central Office (509-854-1515).📞
Nuestro equipo distrital de MTSS (Sistema de Apoyos de Múltiples Niveles) trabajó en conjunto para revisar datos de los estudiantes, reconocer fortalezas, identificar prioridades y planear los próximos pasos para apoyar a los estudiantes en lo académico, el comportamiento y el bienestar socioemocional.
