- Granger Spartans took 4th out of 7, so we are going to state! This is a HUGE accomplishment for these kids as it is the first year ever of this program at GHS and we are state contenders. State will be held Saturday, March 21 at West Valley High School in Yakima. Audience members are welcome to come and support.

- We are ELPA testing this week. ELPA tests help provide supports for students who may need interventions & supports in class around language acquisition. Please do your best on this test to show your English language skill levels. If you test out at level 4, you do not have to take the ELPA test again. Students can find their name on the posters (organized by your advisory teacher) in the Cafeteria and across from the library. See what day you will be testing. If you are testing in the AM, you should report to the library at 8:00 am. If you are testing in the PM, Mr. Ramirez will call you down when the computers are available.

- Seniors three great scholarship opportunities are due Friday the 28th - The Mildred Weyenberg Scholarship, The Yakima Valley College Foundation Scholarship, and the Heritage University Eagle's Scholarship. Please make sure to your submit your scholarship applications today!
- Juniors - Thinking about going to college? Friday February the 28th is the deadline for April 4th's ACT Test Date. The ACT is a test that universities utilize as part of the admissions process. Go online and register for the test as soon as possible. Feel free to stop by Mr. Herrera's office if you have questions.

- Seniors! Please turn in all money from Lollipop Sales by the end of the day.
- Seniors are selling lollipop bouquets for Valentines. If you would like to send a bouquet to a friend, a crush, or your bae, come and buy a bouquet from Mrs. Leon during lunch or passing time for $1.50. Your bouquet will be delivered the last ten minutes of 7th period or you can take it with you to deliver yourself.

- Seniors the Washington State Opportunity Scholarships are due February the 6th. These scholarships are for students looking into STEM fields, Health Care Fields, and Vocational Trades. Please see Mrs. Saldivar or Mr. Herrera for assistance.
- A friendly reminder to the students that have signed up for this weekend's ACT Test Date. Please make sure to have your admissions ticket, your Washington ID or School ID, 2- #2 pencils, and a calculator. Get plenty of rest the night before, a great breakfast which includes protein, and show up to your test site at 7:30am sharp as testing will begin at 8am. Please stop by Mr. Herrera office if you have questions or need help printing out your admissions ticket. Good Luck!

- ASB Elections are upon us! We need to elect our President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Activities Coordinator by the end of January. We also need to elect class officers by the end of January so that they can sign up for the Leadership Class for the 2020-2021 school year. You will be elected, but not take over the duties of the position until the end of this school year. Please ask your advisor if you have any questions and ASB Election Packets can be found in the office starting January 20th. Ask your advisors for Class Officer Applications.

We have skillful photographers who can help you capture a special Senior Picture. The only cost to Seniors will be the cost of the prints. Zillah High School will be having a College and Career Fair from 5-8PM on Thursday in the Zillah High School Gymnasium. Granger High High School students and parents are welcome to come by to meet with college representatives, complete a FAFSA, arrange a college visit, or learn about career opportunities.
